Philipsburg – Sint Maarten krijgt een regering zonder National Alliance en United Peoples Party. Amper 2 etmalen na de Statenverkiezingen maakten Unified Resilient St. Maarten Movement (URSM), Democratic Party (DP), Party for Progress (PFP) en Nation Opportunity Wealth (NOW) tot veler verrassing bekend een coalitieakkoord te hebben.
De nieuwe regering onder leiding van minister-president Luc Mercelina (URSM) bestaat uit vier partijen die elk 2 zetels behaalden. Dat is net voldoende voor een nipte meerderheid in de 15 leden tellende Staten. Bij de verkiezingen verloor het Kabinet Jacobs – het eerste sinds 2010 dat de rit uitzat – zijn meerderheid, maar vrijwel iedereen ging er vanuit dat de NA en UPP met steun van een van de kleinere partijen zouden doorregeren.
Dat de vier kleinere partijen het zo snel eens zijn geworden kan worden gezien als een afrekening met de arrogantie van de partijen die al jaren de door corruptieschandalen achtervolgde politiek op Sint Maarten domineren.

The coalition agreement outlines a comprehensive vision for the next four years, focusing on key issues such as economic development, social welfare, and environmental sustainability.
